A The blue and turquoise of the sea, the bright white of the beach, dotted with pink on the shoreline, and the green of the Mediterranean maquis. These are the postcard colours of Punta Molentisone of the pearls of Villasimius (and the whole of southern Sardinia), which you will find along the panoramic provincial road to Castiadas e Costa Rei. The crystal-clear waters bathe the fine white sand, whose reflections illuminate the coast. The promontory and the beach are part of theCapo Carbonara marine area and owe their name to on molentsthe donkey:

once a means of transporting material extracted from the surrounding granite quarries. The granite rocks emerge as relics where the shore is tinged pink at sunset.

Divided into several coves, Punta Molentis is topped by Mediterranean shrubs and cacti with multicoloured flowers, which give the landscape an unusual appearance and perfume the air. The triumph of nature is complemented by rabbits and water birds. The beach is arched, enclosed to the north by a small promontory, to the east by a mass of caving rocks. The sea ranges in hue from emerald green to turquoise to azure. The seabed is shallow and sandy. Due to its conformation, similar to an isthmus, it is quite sheltered from the winds. There is a refreshment point and you can hire bathing equipment and boats. Behind, on a hill, are the remains of a nuraghe, known as the nuraghe of Punta Molentis.

Villasimius offers beautiful settings for spots and films on all its beaches, from the west of Capo Carbonara (Porto sa Ruxi

Campus, CampolonguRice beachCala Caterina) to the east (pond of Notteri e Porto GiuncoSimius e Traias), up to Rio Trottuwith views of thecabbage island

Manunzasideal for those seeking tranquillity, beaches that surround the main one of Punta Molentis.
